Case Study: How New Technology Helped a Major Insurer Thrive on HealthCare.gov

Tuesday, May 5, 2015

Join us for this free webinar and discover how Michigan-based Physicians Health Plan (PHP) successfully implemented an exchange enrollment and premium billing system from Softheon — just two months before 2015 open-enrollment — and hit its enrollment targets.

PHP attempted to sell health coverage through HealthCare.gov for the 2014 plan year, but its legacy administration system’s enrollment capabilities weren’t sophisticated enough.

Find out what steps PHP took to extend its legacy system and thrive on HealthCare.gov.

Sign up today for this complimentary webinar and hear directly from PHP and Softheon about the challenges health plans face when trying to upgrade legacy systems and the rationale for interoperable health IT adoption. You’ll get answers to questions such as:

  • How well does the platform reconcile premiums and advance premium tax subsidies?
  • How easy is the portal to navigate?
  • What capabilities exist for members to sort through benefit summaries and pay premiums online?
  • How complete are the premium receivable reports? (e.g., do they include premium amounts paid and owed by each member?)
  • How should health plans prepare for the nation’s movement toward an interoperable ecosystem?
  • How can multiple channels of distribution be optimized via a single integration point?

This webinar also will highlight lessons learned from this year’s implementation with Federally Supported State-Based Marketplace models, and contingencies health plans need to prepare for in the wake of the SCOTUS King v. Burwell ruling.

SUSAN ARMBRUSTER, an operations consultant filling a lead operations role at Physicians Health Plan, is a highly experienced health care executive with more than 30 years in health care operations and extensive operational knowledge of government programs. She was senior vice president of claims operations at Universal American Corp. from 2008 to 2011. Prior to that, she was senior vice president of operations at Amerigroup Corp., now a subsidiary of Anthem, Inc. Ms. Armbruster has had numerous consulting engagements with an emphasis on system installations/migrations.

EUGENE SAYAN is the founder, chairman and CEO of Softheon, Inc. He is responsible for leading the company’s vision and strategic direction to address health insurers, TPAs, and small and large group organizations’ goal of addressing ACA-mandate challenges, implementing single and multi-carrier private exchanges, and integrating with the federal and state-based Marketplaces — while mitigating the risk and high cost of implementation, and ongoing operation through the use of Softheon Cloud. Prior to founding Softheon, Mr. Sayan successfully led the big-data and process management initiatives for Fortune 1000 companies, after his tenure at IBM. Softheon launched its cloud-based private exchange platform in 2013 and works with state and federally run public exchanges, covering all 50 states.
