F. RANDY VOGENBERG, RPh, PhD, is a Principal at the Institute for Integrated Healthcare, a pharmaceutical benefits consulting firm based in Sharon, Mass. His professional experience includes business coalition and FORTUNE 500 employer benefit consultation, a past national practice leader for Aon Consulting Worldwide and chief strategic officer for Employer-based Pharmaceutical Strategies. Dr. Vogenberg has also been appointed as strategic pharmacy advisor for the national Value Based Pharmacy Purchasing program directed by the Mid-Atlantic Business Group on Health for the National Business Coalition on Health. A frequent speaker and author focusing on integrated health strategies, wellness and value based design issues, he has authored several books, including Pharmacy Benefits: Plan Design and Management and an eLearning program on “Specialty Pharmacy and Biotechnology Medication Coverage,” both for the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans. Dr. Vogenberg holds a B.S. in pharmacy from the University of Rhode Island and a PhD in health care management from Century University.
HOWARD WILD, RPh, is vice president, generic strategies, at MedImpact Healthcare Systems, Inc., where he oversees the operation of the pharmacy benefit manager’s pharmacy relations and network performance department. Mr. Wild also monitors and publishes a quarterly report showing potential patent expirations and their anticipated impact which results in the strategic planning of formulary and benefit design in order to maximize cost savings for MedImpact’s clients. He has previously served as the director of pharmacy for Empire Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New York and NYL Care Health Plans of New York. Mr. Wild received a B.S. in pharmacy from the Brooklyn College of Pharmacy at Long Island University.
