DEBBIE STERN, RPh, is vice president of Rxperts, a managed care consulting firm located in Irvine, Calif. She is a nationally recognized speaker, meeting facilitator and consultant for a wide variety of clients, including the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry, specialty pharmacies and technology companies, with a focused perspective on managed markets topics related to specialty pharmaceuticals. Debbie initiated the concept of the EMD Serono Injectables Digest in 2004 and has been its author and editor for all eight editions. Previously, Debbie was a senior level director at two national PBMs, spent five years in the pharmaceutical industry and ten years in retail pharmacy. She has a BS in pharmacy from the University of Cincinnati and is actively involved in the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy, where she previously served on the board of directors.
RANDELL J. "RJ" CORREIA, Pharm.D., is senior vice president of pharmacy services for OptumRx. He is responsible for the mail service and specialty pharmacy business lines, which serve more than 200 clients and 11 million mail service covered lives and more than 180 clients and 21 million specialty pharmacy covered lives respectively, representing more than $3 billion in annual revenue with a service area spanning the entire United States and US territories. In addition to the functions of receiving, processing, filling and shipping prescriptions, RJ’s scope of responsibility includes customer service, purchasing and inventory management, physician and member communications, clinical management programs, and automation technologies. He joined Prescription Solutions in 2002 and has 29 years of experience in various pharmacy enterprises. Previous positions include vice president of SangStat Medical Corporation; director of Stanford Health Services Home Infusion Pharmacy; and CEO for California Infusion Services. RJ has practiced clinically and has held clinical coordinator positions. He serves as a governing board member for the University of the Pacific School of Pharmacy Entrepreneurial and Innovation program and for the Pharmaceutical Care Management Association specialty pharmacy council. RJ earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of the Pacific and completed a clinical residency at Holy Cross Hospital in Florida.
