Michael H. Waterbury
President, ICORE Healthcare
Michael Waterbury serves as President of ICORE Healthcare, Magellan’s specialty pharmacy business unit. Under his leadership ICORE is continuing to redefine how America’s health plans manage complex specialty pharmaceuticals to ensure clinical excellence, while minimizing costs in one of the fastest-growing areas of healthcare spending. Previously, Michael served as senior vice president, Medical Pharmacy Solution for Magellan’s ICORE Healthcare. In this role, he was responsible for the medical pharmacy management division and the oversight of the successful oncology model, that has served as the foundation for managing programs for other complex diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn’s and psoriasis.
Prior to his role at Magellan, Michael served as executive vice president, healthcare services for United Healthcare/Oxford Health Plans. In this role, he managed the New York network and was primarily responsible for hospital and physician contracting for commercial, Medicare and Medicaid lines of business. Michael also managed the health care initiatives team and led key integration projects for network and contracting management.
While at Oxford Health Plans, Michael served as vice president, healthcare services and managed a pharmacy benefit manager contract for 1.4 million members. He also implemented Oxford’s oncology management and clinical program including physician injectable drug reimbursement strategies, network management and clinical programs.
Michael received his bachelor of arts in business administration from the University of Richmond.
