Baylor Scott & White Expands ACO, Adding Cigna as Third Health Plan

Dallas-based accountable care organization (ACO) Baylor Scott & White Quality Alliance (BSWQA) has been steadily adding health plans to its ranks. The ACO said that it will be joining forces with Cigna Corp., the third health plan it has added since the ACO launched in 2013. BSWQA is affiliated with Baylor Scott & White Health (BSWH), the largest not-for-profit health system in Texas, and is comprised of more than 5,000 primary and specialty care providers, 48 hospitals, post-acute care facilities and other entities that work together to be jointly accountable in a risk-sharing venture to improve the quality of patient populations while reducing health care costs....  Read Full Story

Intermountain Healthcare named John Wright vice president of supply chain. He was most recently vice president of supply chain at MedStar Health, and previously worked in supply chain roles at Bon Secours, Cardinal Health and Inova Health System….Jim Haley joined Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield as the manager of customer service applications and is responsible for developing and supporting e-business enterprise systems, e-business consumer systems and customer touchpoint applications. Haley previously was an information technology manager at the Arkansas Health Insurance Marketplace….Blue Shield of California appointed Mimi Kokoska, M.D., senior vice president of Health Care Quality and Affordability Strategic Partnerships and Innovation. She most recently was senior vice president and chief medical officer, hospital based specialties at Aurora Health Care. The insurer also promoted Hugo Florez to vice president of Provider Network Management, Care1st and Specialty Networks. Florez was previously senior director of PPO Physician and Specialty Networks.
