Cigna Corp. will promote Eric Palmer to the role of chief financial officer when Thomas McCarthy retires this summer. Palmer currently serves as CFO for Cigna’s global health, Cigna-HealthSpring, employer-based health care, group and supplemental insurance businesses….Humana Inc. Vice President of Investor Relations Regina Nethery will retire at the end of May after nearly 22 years with Humana. Amy Smith, Humana’s director of investor relations, will take over….Molina Healthcare, Inc. fired CEO J. Mario Molina, M.D., and CFO John Molina. Chief Accounting Officer Joseph White has stepped into the role of interim president and CEO, while Board Director Dale Wolf has been named non-executive chairman of the board….Brian Thompson, CFO for the UnitedHealthcare Medicare & Retirement division, will take over as CEO for the division; Steve Nelson, CEO for the Medicare & Retirement segment, has been promoted to UnitedHealthcare’s overall CEO. Current UnitedHealthcare CFO Dan Schumacher was named UnitedHealthcare president.
