Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R) appointed Eleanor Kitzman Texas Insurance Commissioner, effective Aug. 15, for a term to expire Feb. 1, 2013. Kitzman is the outgoing executive director of the South Carolina Budget and Control Board, and is a past director of the South Carolina Department of Insurance....Aegerion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. named Mark Sumeray, M.D., chief medical officer. Sumeray was vice president, cardiovascular/metabolics at Bristol-Myers Squibb.
