Are ‘Death Panels’ Making a Comeback?

Over the weekend, a Facebook friend posted a fascinating line-by-line criticism of the health reform law. Hospitals, according to the note, will be required to ration cancer treatment of Medicare patients after age 67! As a health care reporter, that got my attention. I’ve read the law…how did I miss that? The infamous death panels were also mentioned, as well as a host of other nonsensical items. Apparently, this item predates the reform law and first surfaced during the heated Congressional debates of 2009, according to online myth-buster Snopes.com ... Read more
