Vendors that handle Medicaid claims submissions, eligibility verifications and service authorizations can land their provider-clients in hot water if they don’t comply with a New York regulation, the state’s Medicaid Inspector General Jim Sheehan said in a recent webinar. The issue now has implications nationwide since Sec. 6503 of the health reform act called for medical billing companies to become registered.
