“It’s gotten to the point that if we’re going to be able to take care of the patient five, 10 years from now, we have to say ‘no’ to some of these low-ball contracts [e.g., the new negotiated, much lower reimbursement rates for pharmacies negotiated by public employees in Alabama]. 4.6%…was the increase for 2011 in commercial insurance risk premiums, down significantly from 13.5% in 2010 and 9.1% in 2009, according to a recent survey of brokers conducted by Credit Suisse.
