HHS has updated its HealthCare.gov insurance finder by doubling the number of plans available for comparison in its consumer tool. On Oct. 1, there were 4,400 plans offered by 230 health insurers in the HealthCare.gov tool. The Nov. 15 update brings those numbers to more than 8,500 and 299, respectively. “This update to HealthCare.gov further enhances the ability of Americans to find health care coverage that meets their needs and get the best value for their money,” HHS announced on the site. The website was launched on July 1 under the reform law to consolidate information about private and public health coverage options, enabling consumers to learn about and compare their insurance choices.
